Johannes Jährig

Johannes year round ( born March 17, 1747 in Mr Hague, now Büdingen, † June 26, 1795 in Saint Petersburg ) was a German Mongolist and Mongols researcher and translator of Tibetan and Mongolian texts.

Life

Johannes year was born the son of Johann Gottlieb year and Anna Barbara born Stephan on Mr Hague in Büdingen. The parents were members of the Moravian Brethren, who had found their stay to 1751 on the Mr Hague. Johannes year learned the Tibetan language and the translations of the letters sent by the Dalai Lama at the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences. The Academy received from him samples of the plant and animal kingdoms from the steppe and medicinal herb of the Kalmyks.
