Johannes Wilsing

John Wilsing ( born September 8, 1856 in Berlin, † December 23, 1943 in Potsdam ) was a German astronomer.

Wilsing studied in Berlin and Göttingen. In 1880 he received his doctorate in Berlin with a thesis on the influence of air pressure and heat to the pendulum motion.

From 1898 to 1921 he was Observer at the Astrophysical Observatory Potsdam.

Along with Julius Scheiner 1896 he tried the radio emission from the sun to prove. Wilsings main field of research was the spectrophotometry.
