John Afoa

Ioane Fitu "John" Afoa (born 16 October 1983 Auckland ) is a New Zealand rugby union international. His position is that of the pillar. He plays for Ulster Rugby in the Celtic League.

Afoa was a student at the Auckland 's St. Kent Ergin 's College, where he had to play along with the All Black Joe Rokocoko also today started XVer rugby.

International career

Afoa has played for a number of New Zealand's youth national teams. In 1999, he debuted at the U-16 national team, the recent Rugby selection of New Zealand. 2000 and 2001 he played in the higher New Zealand Schools' team.

Afoa went through all the youth teams and played for the U- 19 in 2002 and 2003. Afoa in 2003 was also appointed to the cadre of the U- 21 team that took part in the Rugby World Youth Championship. The New Zealanders won the tournament and Afoa was one of the four " Kiwis ", which have been selected by the International Rugby Board in the team of the tournament.

2005 Afoa was appointed to the All Blacks squad for the Tri Nations. Despite this appointment, he played a single game in the tournament and played his first international match at the end of the year. In November he became the 1062. All Black when he played against Ireland in Lansdowne Road from the beginning.

2011 Afoa left New Zealand and moved to Northern Ireland to Ulster Rugby.
