John Arthur Pilcher

Sir John Arthur Pilcher GCMG (1965 ) (* May 6, 1912, † 1990) was a British diplomat.

Pilcher studidierte at the Shrewbbury and at Clare College, Cambridge. He married in 1942 Delia Margret Taylor with whom he had a daughter. On October 24, 1935 Pilcher entered the auswärtingen service. On 25 November 1935 he was appointed Vice - Consul probationer in Tokyo. On 28 May 1940 he was Vice - Consul in Cina. In 1952, he worked as a press attaché in Rome. He was ambassador from 1959 to 1963 in Manila ( Philippines), 1965-1957 in Vienna ( Austria ) and from 1967 to 1972 in Tokyo (Japan). In a letter to Alec Douglas-Home on 8 June 1972, he stated that he was often erschöpfen.1973 in Japanese etiquette verstetzt to retire and member of the Trilateral Commission.
