John Barber (engineer)

John Barber (* 1734 in Nottinghamshire, † 1801) was an English inventor.

He went in the 1760s after Nuneaton to conduct coal mines there. He later lived in Attleborough. Between 1766 and 1792, he patented several inventions, of which the most notable 1791, the gas turbine was. Although they could not be realized, he described in detail the principle.
