John Barron (journalist)
John Daniel Barron ( born January 26, 1930 in Wichita Falls, Texas; † 24 February 2005 in Virginia) was an American journalist who exposed the KGB spy organization of the Communist Soviet Union.
In 1957 he started at the newspaper Washington Star as a reporter. From 1965 worked in the Washington office of Reader 's Digest, and wrote more than 100 stories to a wide variety of topics. He was a senior editor there soon.
His book "KGB ", which appeared in German in 1973, contains not only a detailed description of the activities of Soviet intelligence also the text of the secret KGB textbook and a list of Soviet citizens involved in intelligence jobs abroad.
In 1980 he reported on the outstanding issues surrounding the drowning of 29 -year-old Mary Jo Kopechne at Chappaquiddick secretary, who worked as a campaign worker for Edward Kennedy.
