John Brendan McCormack

John Brendan McCormack ( born August 12, 1935 in Winthrop ) is retired Bishop of Manchester.

Life

The Archbishop of Boston, Richard Cardinal Cushing James, ordained him a priest on 2 February 1960.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 21 November 1995 as Titular Bishop of Cerbali and auxiliary bishop in Boston. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Boston, Bernard Francis Cardinal Law, on 27 December of the same year; Co-consecrators were William Wakefield Cardinal Tree, Kardinalgroßpönitentiar, and Alfred Clifton Hughes, Bishop of Baton Rouge.

On July 21, 1998, he was appointed Bishop of Manchester, and introduced into the office on 22 September of the same year. On September 19, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. its age-related resignation.
