John Caius

John Caius (* November 6, 1510 in Norwich, † July 29, 1573 in London ) was an English court physician, who again founded the Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge with a donation.

Caius to 1533 studied at the University of Cambridge. On a trip through Italy, he studied at the University of Padua, he attended from 1543 Germany and France, and returned to England. From 1547 on, he practiced as a physician in London; he treated the queens Mary I (England) and Elizabeth I (England). In 1557 it donated 1,834 pounds sterling to enable the re- establishment of Gonville Hall. There he taught from 1558th

He wrote the first treatise on Britain's dogs.
