John Campbell (blues guitarist)

John Campbell ( born January 20, 1952 in Shreveport, Louisiana, † June 13, 1993 ) was an American blues guitarist, singer and songwriter.

He learned already with three years playing guitar, got as an 8- year-old his first guitar and began his professional career at age 13. At 16 he left his home and the school. Until 1985, he played in various clubs between Texas and New Orleans, and then settled in New York. He made in 1988 at CrossCut Records His first studio recording. In 1991 he got the opportunity for Elektra Records to make recordings. In 1993, he died in his sleep in his New York apartment of heart failure.
