John Chase (ice hockey)

John Pierce Chase ( born June 12, 1906, in Milton, Massachusetts, † April 1, 1994 in Salem, Massachusetts ) was an American professional ice hockey player and coach.

Career

John Chase began his career as a hockey player at Harvard University. In his last year of university, he was captain of the Harvard Crimson. After graduating, he played in the amateur field for Boston AA, the Boston University Club and the Burn Hockey Club. From 1941 to 1951 he was coach of the hockey team from Harvard University. In 1973, he was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame.

Internationally

For the U.S., Chase participated in the 1932 Olympics in Lake Placid, where he won the silver medal with his team. He was captain of his team and scored four goals in six games.
