John Hart ( born December 13, 1917 in Los Angeles, California, † 20 September 2009 in Playas de Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico ) was an American actor. He played his most famous role as the Lone Ranger.

Life

Hart, a graduate of Pasadena High School, first appeared in several pieces of the Pasadena Playhouse, with a small role in 1938 before he launched his Hollywood career in Cecil B. DeMille's The Buccaneer, and as a bit player until his army service, he took up in 1941. In 1947 he resumed his film career, first with very limited success again. His most famous role at that time was that of the serial Jack Armstrong listed in 1947. However, in 1953 he was cast as the successor of Clayton Moore in 54 episodes of the Western series The Texas Rangers, what Hart meant a breakthrough. Another title character he played in the serial The Adventures of Captain Africa (1955 ) and in the 39 - part TV series, Hawkeye and the Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper.

During the recording of Hawkeye, which took place in Canada, Hart met his colleague Beryl Braithwaite, whom he married after a very short time. The marriage lasted until his death.

In the 1960s his interest changed from acting to producing advertising and documentaries. Also at the post-production of the series Quincy he was involved.
