John Hyams

John Hyams is an American film director and editor.

Life

His father is the film director and cinematographer Peter Hyams. Johm Hyams graduated from the School of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University. In 1992 he was involved as a director of the documentary television series America Undercover.

Five years later, Hyams staged with One Dog Day his first film, a documentary. Another five years later with The Smashing Machine his second documentary, for it also the first time came into existence as a cutter. In the years 2003 to 2005 he directed several episodes of the series New York Cops - NYPD Blue.

After several other productions followed in 2009 with Universal Soldier: Regeneration his first action film, a continuation of the Universal Soldier film series. The main role was played Jean -Claude van Damme. Since father was involved in this production as a cameraman. 2012 turned Hyams the action film Dragon Eyes, again with Van Damme in the lead role.
