John I, Count of Dammartin

Johann von Trie (French: Jean de Trie, † July 11, 1302 at Courtrai ) was as John II, a Lord of Trie ( Trie-Château and Trie today -la- Ville), Mouchy -le- Châtel and Plessis- Billebaut and as John I, Count of a Dammartin out of the house trie. He was the son of Mathieu de Trie, Count of Dammartin, and the Marselie de Montmorency.

Johann moved in 1282 in the wake of Count Robert II of Artois to southern Italy, there to Charles of Anjou assist in the fight against the Aragonese ( Sicilian Vespers ). On the side of the Count of Artois, he also fought in 1302 in the disastrous Battle of the Golden Spurs against the Flemings, in which both fell.

He married Yolande, daughter of Count John I of Dreux. Her son was Rainald II († 1316 ).
