John II of Legnica

John II of Legnica (* 1477, † March 6, 1495 ) was Duke of Liegnitz. He came from a branch of the Silesian Piast Legnica.

Life

His parents were Duke Friedrich I († 1488 ) and Ludmilla († 1503), a daughter of the Bohemian King George of Podiebrad.

After the early death of her father John and his younger brothers Frederick and George I grew initially under the tutelage of her mother. Johann did not get to due to him as the eldest son, heir, since he died in 1495 unmarried and without issue. The regency over the Duchy of Legnica took over in 1499 the second son Frederick II, who until 1505 the proportion Brieger 's younger brother George I managed at the same time.
