John Kelly of Killanne

John Kelly of Kill Anne († July 21, 1798 ) played a significant role in the Irish Rebellion of 1798. He was a leader who ingested by the Battle of Three Rocks the Wexford town. At the battle of New Ross, he was severely injured and subsequently moved to Wexford. On July 21, 1798 he was killed by British forces.

The exploits of John Kelly of Kill Anne is sung in the traditional Irish ballad of Kill Kelly Anne, as well as in the song Boys on the docks of the Dropkick Murphys.
