John Landen
John Landen ( born January 23, 1719 Peakirk in Peterborough / formerly in Northamptonshire; † January 15, 1790 in Milton at Peterborough ) was a reclusive mathematician.
In 1762 he was hired by the Earl Fitzwilliam as land managers, where he lived until his death. Mathematics he drove as a pastime, initially contributed to the Ladies Diaries. In 1766 he became a member of the Royal Society. In particular, he examined the differential calculus on algebraic way. In 1775 he wrote his memoirs.
