John Mason (Scottish politician)

John Mason ( born May 15, 1957 in Rutherglen ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party ( SNP).

Mason attended Hutcheson 's Grammar School and then studied accounting at the University of Glasgow. Mason worked for various charities and non-profit organizations and spent for United Mission to Nepal for three years in Nepal. He then worked in various business enterprises.

1998 Mason was elected to the Glasgow City Council and sat in front since 1999, the local SNP Group. 2008, the House of Deputies and Labour politician David Marshall returned his mandate, which is why new elections were set up in the constituency of Glasgow East, which Mason ran as candidate of the SNP. Although it is a classic dominated by the Labour Party constituency, managed Mason is just enforce against Margaret Curran and achieve the direct mandate.
