Margaret Curran

Margaret Curran (* November 24, 1958 ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labour Party.

Curran visited the Our Lady and St Francis School in Glasgow and studied at the University of Glasgow history and economic history. At Dundee College, she also became a certified degree in Community Education. Between 1989 and 1999, Curran worked as a Lecturer in Community Education at the University of Strathclyde. Curran is married and the mother of two sons.

Curran appeared for the first time at the Scottish Parliament elections 1999 to national elections. She was a candidate for the Labour Party in the constituency of Glasgow Baillieston and won the mandate well ahead of the candidate SNP. As a result, they moved into the newly created Scottish Parliament and was initially October 2000 to May 2002 Deputy Minister for Social Justice and was subsequently sworn directly to the Minister in the same department.
