John McBain (musician)

John McBain ( born April 23 1963 as John Paul McBain ) is an American guitarist and songwriter, who was best known as the guitarist of the rock band Monster Magnet.

Music career

In 1989, the band Dog of Mystery was founded, which was later to Airport 75 and finally to Monster Magnet. McBain was the guitarist on the first three release of the band. However, due to personal differences between him and front man Dave Wyndorf he had to leave the band.

Hater was the next band that founded McBain along with Brian Wood and Soundgarden members Matt Cameron and Ben Shepherd. They recorded two albums, the second of which was published until ten years later ( 2005).

1997 John McBain worked with during the recording of the launched by Josh Homme Desert Sessions. In the same year he founded the band Well Water Conspiracy, in which his former band members of Hater, Cameron and Shepherd, also participated again. Since its inception, the band released four studio albums.

In addition to his membership in Well Water Conspiracy McBain 2006 brought with The Inflight feature on the market, which consists of collected musical material that could find no use in his band.
