John Medley Wood

John Medley Wood ( born December 1, 1827 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire; † August 26, 1915 in Durban ) was an Anglo- South African botanist who worked in South Africa. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " JMWood ".

Wood in 1882 curator of the Botanical Gardens in Durban. The genus Woodia Schltr. from the plant family of the dogbane family ( Apocynaceae ) has been named after him.
