John Oliver (comedian)

John William Oliver ( born April 23, 1977 in Birmingham ) is an English comedian, actor and writer. He lives in the U.S. and was until December 2013 " Correspondent " in the satirical news program The Daily Show, which he also hosted the summer of 2013 on behalf of Jon Stewart for 3 months. For his performance as a writer for The Daily Show, he was in 2009, 2011 and 2012 won an Emmy Award. Since 2009 he plays in the television series Community the recurring character Professor Ian Duncan. Since January 2010 he has his own show John Oliver 's New York Stand Up Show, which runs in the transmitter Comedy Central. From 2014 he is the host of a late night show on HBO.
