John Preskill
John Philip Preskill ( born January 19, 1953 in Highland Park, Illinois) is an American physicist. He is a professor at the California Institute of Technology.
John Preskill made himself a name as a student by the publication of a paper on the cosmological production of heavy magnetic monopoles in connection with the Grand Unified Theory.
He completed his training in 1980 with the Ph.D. from. After several years at Harvard University, he became in 1983 a professor at CalTech. Some familiarity gained his public betting with Stephen Hawking and Kip Thorne.
