John Reynolds Gardiner

John Reynolds Gardiner (December 6, 1944 in Los Angeles, California, † March 4, 2006 in Anaheim, California ) was an American writer.

Life and work

Gardiner studied engineering at the University of California at Los Angeles. He graduated with a Master degree. After studying Gardiner worked full-time as an engineer in the work contract for the aerospace industry, where he specialized in thermodynamics. Part-time, he worked as a writer and editor of children's stories for television. He lived among others in West Germany and Central America.

Based on a legend from Idaho, he wrote his first book, " Golden Eagle " ( Stonefox ), which was translated into three languages ​​and was made ​​into a film in 1987 for American television under the title Stonefox. After Gardiner lived with his wife in California, where he continued to work part time for television and wrote books. Gardiner wrote throughout his career as a writer of three children's books. On March 4, 2006 Gardiner died in a hospital in Anaheim from complications of pancreatitis.
