John Spencer (2004)

John Spencer ( born September 11, 1970 in Glasgow ) is a former Scottish footballer who played in Major League Soccer for the Colorado Rapids. He is currently an assistant at Houston Dynamo.

Career

Association

Spencer's football career began at the Glasgow Rangers, where in 1985 he signed his first contract signed. He was later to Greenock Morton and Lai Sun ( Hong Kong) borrowed and also was at Chelsea, at the Queens Park Rangers, FC and Everton FC Motherwell under contract.

On 21 February 2001, he signed with the Rapids and celebrated in the Major Soccer League a strong start. In his first year with the Rapids Spencer was able to achieve in 22 games 14 goals and seven of them prepare. As a result, he was elected to the " Eleven of the season," the MLS. Spencer's second year in America was less prominent and mainly characterized by injuries, but he was in 13 games after all, still shoot five goals and providing four assists. In 2003, he was back on the winning track back, scoring 14 goals and prepared 5 before, was also in the " Team of the Year" and was nominated for the MLS MVP Award.
