John Stevens (New Jersey)

John Stevens ( born October 21, 1716 in New York City; † May 10, 1792 in Hoboken, New Jersey) was American politician.

Life

John Stevens was in 1783 a member of the Continental Congress for the State of New Jersey in the year. He was the son of John Stevens and his wife Ann Campbell. He married Elizabeth Alexander, daughter of James Alexander, a general of New Jersey. They had two children together. Firstly, the inventor John Stevens and Mary Stevens, on the other.
