John Tembo

John Zenus Ungapake Tembo ( born 1931 in the district of Dedza in Malawi ) is a Malawian politician. He is president of the opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP ).

Tembo is a teacher by profession. He was elected in 1961 in the National Assembly Njassalands. 1964 Tembo was Hastings Kamuzu Banda Treasury under. He worked a long time on the side of Banda tried after his death (1997) to come to power and was excluded from the 2004 presidential election.
