John W. Wilcox, Jr.

John Walter Wilcox, Jr. ( born March 22, 1882 in Milledgeville (Georgia ), † March 27, 1942 off Newfoundland ) was an admiral of the United States Navy.

Biography

Wilcox graduated in 1905 from the United States Naval Academy, his first command in 1917 the patrol boat USS Yacona, a former yacht.
