John W. Wydler

John Waldemar Wydler ( born June 9, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York; † August 4, 1987 in Washington DC) was an American lawyer and politician. Between 1963 and 1981 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

John Waldemar Wydler visited the Western School of Long Beach, the Long Beach High School and the Brown University in Providence. He undertook on November 16, 1942 as a private in the United States Army Air Corps. Wydler company was promoted to Staff Sergeant in a chemical weapons and assigned to the units on the China - Burma -India theater of war. He was released in November 1945. Thereafter he served 1945-1955 as Lieutenant in the Judge Advocate 's Office and the Air Force Reserve. Then he resumed his studies at Brown University, where he remained until 1957. Wydler then went on to Harvard University Law School, which he left with a Bachelor of Laws in 1950. His admission to the bar he received in October 1950. Between 1953 and 1959 he worked at the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office for the Eastern District of New York. Wydler opened his own law practice in 1959 in Mineola.

Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 1962 he was in the fourth electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Seymour Halpern on January 4, 1963. He was re-elected four times in a row. Then he ran in the fifth electoral district of New York for the U.S. House of Representatives. After a successful election occurred on January 4, 1973, to succeed Norman F. Lent. He was re-elected three times in a row. Since he gave up for reelection in 1980, he retired after January 3, 1981 out of the Congress. As a congressman, he took in 1968 at the Republican National Convention in part.

After that, he had presided over the Long Iceland Development Agency. Wydler lived in Garden City. He died on August 4, 1987 in Washington, D.C. and was buried in Holy Rood Cemetery in Garden City.
