John William Behnken
John William Behnken ( born March 19, 1884 in Cypress, Texas, † February 23, 1968 in Hollywood, Florida) was an American Protestant clergyman.
Career
Behnken was the son of George W. Behnken and Helen Wunderlich Behnken to the world. He attended St. John's College and Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. In 1906 he was ordained a priest. From 1920 to 1926 he was Vice Präses, then from 1926 to 1929 president of the Diocese of Texas of the Missouri Synod. In 1929, he became vice president of the Missouri Synod and was its president from 1935 to 1962.
