John Yapp

John Yapp ( born April 9, 1983 in Cardiff ) is a Welsh rugby union player. He plays as a pillar for the Welsh national team and the Cardiff Blues.

Yapp plays since 2002 for Cardiff, already at age 18 he made his debut for the club against Ebbw Vale. In the following season he was included in the squad of the regional selection and has since been one of the tribe of the blues. In 2005 he ran for the first time on the national team in the Six Nations against England, before he was part of the Under-19 and Under-21 team in the country.

Due to a serious knee injury in the season 2006/ 07 he could not be considered for the Blues and the Welsh national team for some time. Under the new national coach Warren Gatland he returned in the November internationals 2008 back into the ranks of the team and was also used in the Six Nations 2009. With the Blues in 2009 he succeeded in winning the EDF Energy Cup.
