Johnny Young
Johnny Young ( born March 12, 1947 in Rotterdam as Johnny Benjamin de Jong ) is an Australian singer and presenter with Dutch roots. He was also active as a composer, music and television producer.
Life
Beginning of the 1950s moved Youngs family from the Netherlands to Perth in Australia. In the 1960er'n Young was known as a singer and had in Australia a number -one hit ( Step Back, 1966). He wrote several number-one hits, daruner The Real Thing and The Girl That I Love Russell Morris, The Star by Ross D. Wylie and I Thank You by Lionel Rose.
From 1971 to 1988 he hosted the popular Australian television show Young Talent Time, which spawned a whole series Popstars. 2010 Johnny Young was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association.
