Jollibee

The Jollibee Foods Corporation ( Jollibee ) is a Filipino fast food company that operates several fast food chains. The largest are Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich Pizza, Red Ribbon, Manong Pepe Karinderia and Delifrance. The company is listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange in the Philippine Stock Exchange Index.

Jollibee is a fast food chain on the American model and offers burgers and pasta dishes as well as local Filipino dishes. Including the subsidiaries include around 1,800 stores worldwide to the Group. Annual sales 2009 amounted to about 990 million euros.

In 1994, 80 percent of Jollibee Greenwich Pizza and acquired the rest in 2006. During 2000, the company took over the fast food chain Chowking and expanded its international operations in the following years.

Jollibee is the largest fast food chain in the Philippines and operates stores in the United States, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates and Brunei. With a market share of around 65 percent of the fast food market in the Philippines is the only country worldwide where there is a local supplier managed to compete with McDonald's and to refer the seemingly all powerful competitors on the second place.

The Jollibee founder Tony Tan Caktiong is ranked on the Forbes list of richest Filipinos in 2010 with a fortune of 980 million U.S. dollars in 6th place.
