Jollydora

Jolly Dora is a plant genus of the family of Connaraceae. The genus is native to Central Africa.

Description

Jolly Dora are unbranched trees usually. The large leaves are pinnate. The inflorescence is either a grape or a bunch of flowers or kauliflorer achselbürtig. The heterotristylen flowers are hermaphroditic and fünfzählig.

The petals are outside and inside glabrous, as are the stamens and - usually - the style, the occasional bear, however individual hairs. There is only one carpel. The fruit is a ungestielter or pedunculated bellows outside and inside glabrous. It opens either during or after maturity.

One or two seeds are secured to the inside of the bellows and have a fleshy outer layer, the so-called sarcoplasmic Testa, almost completely envelops the seeds. A lack endosperm, the radicle is pointed, the cotyledons thick.

Dissemination

The genus is altweltlich, the species are found in Central Africa.

System

The genus is in the family own tribe Jollydoreae. There are only three types, including:

  • Jolly Dora glandulosa
  • Jolly Dora pierrei
