Jon Avnet

Jon Avnet ( born November 17, 1949 in New York; actually Avnet Jonathan Michael ) is an American film director and television and film producer.

Life

Jon Avnet began his career as a producer of plays. In 1977 he founded together with Steve Tisch, the production company table / Avnet Productions. As a director, Avnet 1986 drew attention to himself with the television film The separation. In 1991, he turned with Kathy Bates and Mary Stuart Masterson the movie Fried Green Tomatoes. 1994 The tree house with Elijah Wood and Kevin Costner has been published. For this purpose, Avnet has been awarded in the same year with the Political Film Society Award for Peace. Jon Avnet is married to the artist Barbara Brody Avnet since 1975. The couple has three children Alexandra, Jacob and Lily.
