Jon Landau

Jon Landau ( born 1947 ) is an American music critic, manager and record producer, where he was best known for his work as a manager and producer with Bruce Springsteen. He is also the chairman of the nominating committee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

His work as a critic, he started in the first issue of Rolling Stone Magazine in 1967. He compared Jimi Hendrix's " Are You Experienced " with the debut album by Cream " Fresh Cream ". He devoted his critics work but also the R & B and Soul with articles about Aretha Franklinund Sam and Dave, and a posthumous appreciation of Otis Redding.

In 1974, he wrote in an article after he had seen Springsteen in Harvard Square Theater in Cambridge, "I have seen the future of rock ' n' roll, and its name is Bruce Springsteen. " ( in: The Real Paper, May 22, 1974). Springsteen and his band this evening on as the opening act for Bonnie Raitt. The article was also the beginning of a long collaboration. Landau became Springsteen's manager and also from " Born to Run " to " Human Touch " and " Lucky Town " his co- producer.

In addition to Springsteen, he also manages other Acts, such as Livingston Taylor, Jackson Browne, Natalie Merchant, Alejandro Escovedo and Shania Twain.
