Jonathan Scott (zoologist)

Jonathan Scott ( born 1949 in London ) is a British zoologist and wildlife photographer specializing in African wildlife.

Career

He spent most of his life in the Masai Mara in southwestern Kenya and the Serengeti National Park in northern Tanzania. Scott's work, based mainly on research into the life of big cats. He worked closely with Wild Things ( Paramount Productions ) and the David Sheldrick Wildlife. In cooperation with the latter, the series Elephant Diaries was (Diary of elephants ). In the Masai Mara, he lived with the Maasai and so learned their customs and rituals know. He told episodes of In the realm of wild animals and is the co- presenter of the BBC's Big Cat Diary. There followed and he documents the lives of several large cats. He receives support from Simon King and Saba Douglas - Hamilton. He authored text and image to the book "The Leopard 's Tale ."

He was Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 1987 and received the Cherry Kearton Medal of the Royal Geographical Society in 1994. 1996 he was awarded the African Travel and Tourism Association Award. His wife Angie was in 2002 Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

He and Angie have a son and a daughter. In 2011, he and his wife joined the SanDisk Extreme Team.
