Jonathan Wilson (writer)

Jonathan Wilson (* in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear ) is a British sports journalist.

Work

As a football correspondent Wilson writes for several English newspapers like the Financial Times or the Guardian. He also works for football magazines in the UK, China, India and Japan.

In addition to his work as a journalist Wilson noticed as a book author. In his 2006 debut Behind the Curtain Football in Eastern Europe he deals with football in Eastern Europe. The book was nominated for the NSC Football Book of the Year Award. In Sunderland A Club Transformed, published in 2007, he describes the season 2006/ 07 for Sunderland, in the the club undertook Roy Keane the team out of the relegation zone of the second English League back in the Premier League introduced in August 2006. In June 2008 appeared for the European Championship, under the title Inverting the Pyramid - The History of Football Tactics Wilson's third book, a treatise on the history of tactics in football, which 2011 entitled Revolutions on the lawn - appeared A History of Football Tactics in German.

Since March 2011 he has been editor of the quarterly football magazine The Blizzard.
