Jónína Bjartmarz

Jonina Bjartmarz ( born December 23, 1952 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic lawyer and politician of the Progressive Party. It belonged since 2000 to the Icelandic parliament Althingi and was on 15 June 2006 to 24 May 2007 Environmental Minister. Jonina Bjartmarz lost her parliamentary seat with the elections of 12 May 2007 its successor the Ministry of Environment was Þórunn Sveinbjarnardóttir.

The decisions that were given by Jonina Bjartmarz in her short tenure as Minister of the Environment, were partly controversial, so the release of a road project in the Þingvellir National Park, which is met with much skepticism from environmentalists by the leadership of the road near the Þingvallavatn.
