Jónína Leósdóttir

Jonina Leósdóttir ( born May 16, 1954 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic author.

Life

Jonina Leósdóttir studied English and literature at the University of Iceland, where she reached the degree of Bachelor of Arts. She then studied at the University of Essex in the UK. From 1985 to 2005 she worked as a journalist and editor. She wrote biographies, plays and TV shows, novels, children's books and short stories, in addition to translated works from English into Icelandic. In 2008 she took part in Isafjordur at the festival for solos Act alone.

2002 Jonina Leósdóttir was a registered partnership with the politician Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir. 2010, the two married after same-sex marriage was introduced in Iceland. Jonina has from his first marriage with Jón Halldórsson Ormur a son.

Awards and nominations

2008 Jonina won the Jón - úr - VOER poetry prize. Your radio play Hér he kominn Madur ( 2006) ( German: Here a man has come) in 2006 received a nomination for the Icelandic round and radio Price Edda.
