Jordan Knight is the first solo album by American singer Jordan Knight ( known by the New Kids on the Block ). The first track on the album, Give It to You, was released in February 1999 as a single. In July 1999 I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man followed.

Chart success and Certification

The album sold in the U.S. alone over 500 000 times and has received a certificate on 7 July 1999 with a gold record from the RIAA. It reached number 29 on the Billboard 200 and stayed 16 weeks.

Reception

Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic writes in the review of the album, Knight 've had it as the lead singer of New Kids on the Block for his distinctive falsetto heavier than most of the new kids, to establish himself as a solo artist. It was this nevertheless succeeded on this album. Specifically, the faster tracks raises Erlewine out positively ( "Even with the extra effort, the urban soul ballads sometimes dazzling together, but he shines on the uptempo numbers". ) And gives four out of five stars.
