Features

The moths reach a forewing length 12.0 to 12.8 mm in males and 9.0 to 10.5 mm in females. Head, thorax and abdomen shining green. The forehead is narrow and about 0.8 times as wide as the compound eyes. The antennae are short, have a faint bluish tinge and a narrow shaft. They consist of 32 to 34 segments and have a long combing. The translucent wings are only slightly scaly and greenish shine. The rear upper wing surface and the bottoms are light gray. The females are much smaller than the males and have rounded wings. In the male the uncus is small and proximally thickened. The Valven are extended posteriorly and proximally have a short triangular distal tooth, which shows slightly inward. The aedeagus is small and slender, slightly curved and bears a longer and a shorter cornutus. The 8th Abdominalsternit is crescent-shaped and extends to the rear end of the segment. In females, the ostium is slim and rounded. The antrum is sclerotized lean and strong. The ductus bursae strongly sclerotized proximally, distally folded and translucent. The corpus bursae is ovoid.

The egg is yellow.

Similar Species

Jordanita budensis and some populations of Jordanita volgensis can only be distinguished from genitalmorphologisch Jordanita paupera. The two species are similar in Turkey before sympatric with J. paupera. In Transcaucasia J. paupera lives sympatric with volgensis Jordanita.

Dissemination

The species is native to Turkey and Transcaucasia. Other occurrences are known from Jordan, north of Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. In the east the area of ​​distribution extends to the Amur region and to Korea. Are populated steppe biotopes with artemisia vegetation.

Biology

The caterpillars live on Artemisia species. The moths fly from June to July.
