Jörg Faerber

Jörg Faerber ( born June 18, 1929 in Stuttgart ) is a German conductor and long-time managing director of the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn ( WKO).

Life

Faerber graduated in 1949 graduated from high school at a Humanistic Gymnasium in Stuttgart and put 1953 at the State University of Music Stuttgart Kapellmeister examination. Until 1962 he held the position of Musical upper conductor of the theater Heilbronn.

Shortly after the foundation in 1960 he became artistic director and CEO of the WKO, which he artistically and economically as a conductor and managing director until February 2002 and with whom he has toured the USA, Canada, Japan and South Africa. The soloist Anne- Sophie Mutter, Alfred Brendel or Gidon Kremer regularly work with the WKO. Faerber was invited to guest conductor with orchestras of the BBC English and the English Chamber Orchestra.

1976 Faerber was awarded the Golden coin of the city of Heilbronn in 1979, 1984 and 2000 with the Medal of Merit Heilbronner partner city of Béziers in France, in 1984 with the Federal Cross of Merit, 1986 with the title of professor and in 1999 with the Honorary Ring of the city of Heilbronn. Since 2002 he is Honorary Conductor of the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn.
