Jörg Koopmann

Jörg Koopmann ( born March 10, 1968 in Munich) is a German photographer and photo designer.

Biography

Said by his classmates because of his height " the tall one" Koopmann visited the Asam -Gymnasium in Munich. In 1990 he began his studies at the state- Munich Academy of Photographic Design and finished this in 1993. His thesis on " photojournalism " he wrote in Dieter Hinrichs. From 1994 to 1996 he was a photographer of the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus until he freelancing mainly reportage / portrait was active in 1997. In 1997 he founded together with Marek bird the "glossy " Photo Forum in Munich, which he heads along with Martin Fengel.

Working

His areas of expertise include photojournalism and travel photography. In addition to numerous publishing and art photographs Koopmanns photographs are known from magazines such as TIME magazine, the SZ magazine, The Magazine ( Switzerland ), wallpaper Line ( London), Spex and others. He also has invested in various national and international exhibitions. His work has he not supported, but can act " his pictures" for themselves. He makes no difference whether they are created by their own initiative or as a commissioned work. Together with Fengel works Koopmann from 9 April to September 4, 2007 in the project " 149 days ".

Awards

He took 1999 to the contest works by the Körber Foundation for the Körber Photo Award and in part it was proposed in the same year for the Talent Photography, City of Munich, but received this recently as 2001.
