José Higueras

José Higueras ( born March 1, 1953 in Granada ) is a former Spanish tennis player and now coach.

Like so many Spaniards Higueras was a clay court specialist. Among the highlights of his career, the victory at the German Open at Hamburg counts Rothbaum in 1982.

After his career as a player Jose Higueras was tennis coach. He trained many world class players (including Michael Chang at the French Open Championship 1989, Jim Courier, Pete Sampras and Todd Martin) and operates a tennis academy in California. In 2008, he oversaw Roger Federer.
