José Lidón

José Lidón ( born June 2, 1748 in Béjar, † February 11, 1827 in Madrid) was a Spanish organist, conductor and composer.

Lidón 1758 choirboy in the Royal Chapel in Madrid and was a student of José de Nebra and the organist Antonio Literes Montalvo. It was in 1768 organist at the Cathedral of Ourense and the Royal Chapel of Madrid. From 1805 until his death, he was the bandmaster of the Royal Chapel.

In addition to sacred works such as masses, oratorios, psalms and lamentations he composed organ sonatas and joints as well as incidental music.
