José Luis Salgado

José Luis Salgado Gómez ( born April 3, 1966 in Mexico City) is a former Mexican football player who acted in defense.

Life

Association

Salgado began his professional career in 1985 at his hometown club UNAM Pumas, for which he stood until 1990 under contract. After positions with the Tecos de la UAG, with whom he 1993/94 won the Mexican championship, and CF Monterrey, he played between 1995 and 2000 for the Club América, the arch rival of his Exvereins cougars.

National

His debut in the dress of the Mexican national team celebrated Salgado during a five minute appearance in a discharged on January 17, 1987 game against El Salvador, which was won 3-1. His other two international appearances were a mid-term on 16 December 1993 against Brazil (0-1) and full-length on 29 March 1995 against Chile (1-2).

Highlight of his international career, was appointed to the Mexican World Cup squad in 1994, but at the World Cup itself had Salgado be content with the role of reservists.
