Josef Božek

Josef Božek ( born February 28, 1782 Biery, Silesia, † October 21, 1835 in Prague) was Czech inventor and designer mainly of steam- powered vehicles.

Life

The son of a Czech miller wanted to be a professor of mechanics, after he had already during his school visit in Cieszyn and Brno originally built machines. First he went to Brno and trained at the Protestant school in Christian Karl André continued in mathematics and mechanics. In 1804 he went to Prague, tried to take a course of study, however, there were to financial reasons and was a mechanic.

For Stavovský polytechnický ústav in Prague, he created a series of models and use tools, and trained as a watchmaker, he was also a specialist in this field.
