Josef Mazura

Josef Mazura ( born April 23, 1956 in Vyškov, Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach. In the 1980 Olympics he won the gold medal with the Czechoslovak team.

Playing career

Jozef Mazura played in his youth for Sokol Lysovice. In 1973, the full-back to Zbrojovka Brno, where he made ​​his debut at age 21 in the 1st Czechoslovak league in the 1977/ 78 and the same could celebrate the title.

Mazura was in the squad of the Czechoslovak team in the Soviet Union won the gold medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics.

August 18, 1981 Mazura played his first and only international match outside the Olympic team. Czechoslovakia played in Prague against a UEFA selection. Although this is not an international game in the literal sense, it is officially recognized as such by the Czech Football Association.

With 30 years Mazura moved to VSE St. Pölten in the Austrian Regional League East, with which he achieved promotion to the second division. The season 1987/88 he spent at the Belgian second division club KSC Hasselt. From 1988 to 1998, the Czech played for the Austrian club SV Stockerau, with whom he was sensational in 1991 the national cup competition, the OFB Cup win.

Coaching career

Mazuras first coaching position was in season 1998/99 TJ Rousínov in the 5th Czech league. From 1999 to 2002 he worked as an assistant coach at FK Drnovice. In April 2002 he took over after the resignation of Karel Jarůšek the post of head coach, but could not prevent relegation. In October 2005 Mazura took over the team of 1 FC Brno. In the 2007/2008 season the Czech coached the Slovakian club Spartak Trnava, in early May 2008, he was dismissed.

From July to September 2008 Mazura coached FC Tescoma Zlín. In mid-December 2008, he became coach of the 1st FC Slovácka.
