Josef Simon

Joseph Simon ( born August 1, 1930 in Hupperath, Eifel ) is a German philosopher. His areas of the philosophy of language as part of a "philosophy of the character". Noticeable ancestors are not only the modern philosophers, from Kant to Hegel, but also such as Nietzsche, Wittgenstein and Quine.

After stops in Frankfurt and Tübingen Simon was until his retirement Professor at the University of Bonn. From 1985 to 1994 he was editor of the Journal for general philosophy from 1990 to 2010 he has been co-editor of Nietzsche studies (eg Werner Stegmaier and Günter Abel ).
