Joseph Crawhall III

Joseph Crawhall ( born August 20, 1861 in Morpeth, Northumberland, † May 24 1913 in London) was an English painter of the late Impressionism and was in close contact with the Glasgow Boys, a group of artists from the 19th and early 20th century.

Life and work

Joseph Crawhall III. was the fourth child and second son of Joseph Crawhall II and Margaret Boyd. From 1877 to 1879 he studied at King's College in London. 1882 remained Crawhall with James Guthrie and Edward Arthur Walton in Paris, where she engaged intensively with the French realists, especially with the works of Jules Bastien- Lepage.
